About

Lebanon Reservoir Campground is a family operated recreational vehicle park located on historic Lebanon Reservoir in the Town of Lebanon, Madison County, New York. The 130-acre Reservoir dates to the 1830s when several such lakes were built in the area to provide a water supply source to sustain the Chenango Canal. Now maintained by the Canal Corporation, an agency within the New York State Thruway Authority, the Reservoir is a favorite fishing, boating, and swimming area. The 100-acre campground includes extensive water frontage on the Reservoir and many campsites offer a water view.

The campground celebrated its 45th year in operation in 2009 and has grown to include 135 sites. The beautifully landscaped grounds incorporate many species of trees and shrubs, perennial and annual plant beds, and extensive lawn areas. The campsites offer pull-through spaces, fire rings, picnic tables, and many utility combinations—from full hookups, to water and electric services only, and primitive tent sites with no on-site services. Bathrooms and shower facilities, a camp store, two enclosed pavilions, game room, athletic fields, playgrounds, and hiking trails offer the camping family a wide range of services and leisure opportunities. Planned activities occur on most weekends. Free wireless internet service allows campers to stay connected while away from home. A Geocaching program began in 2009. Swimming, fishing, and boating in the Reservoir as mentioned above provide a popular amenity.

Founded by Gailan and Carolyn Hartshorn in the 1960s, the campground is now managed by a second and third generation of the family, including Truman, Mary Karen, Louise, Lois, and Alan. Carolyn celebrates her 90th birthday in 2009 and remains active in the business as well. Come join us for a memorable experience. As you will note on our rate schedule we offer attractive daily, weekly, and seasonal prices.
